- Check the weather. Summer storms are common in South East Queensland. Start early and keep a backup date.
- Protect the mattresses. A mattress bag is handy in humid or wet weather.
- Plan for parking. Beachside streets and apartment blocks can be tight on parking.
- Book early. Weekends are a popular time to move so lock in your dates as soon as you know them.

Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast: what is the process?
- Choose your package and hire period.
- Select your delivery date and final hire date.
- Enter your address so delivery fees can be calculated.
- Pack and move.
- Stack the empty crates for collection.
Choosing your hire length
Our standard hire period is two weeks. For a local move that covers packing in the week before and unpacking in the week after. If you expect to unpack slowly then choose a longer hire period when you book. Crates must be fully emptied and stacked before collection.
A packing order that suits a coastal move
- Rarely used items first. Books and décor and seasonal gear.
- Beach and outdoor gear. Coastal homes often have surfboards and outdoor furniture and gear that need special handling. Move those separately where possible.
- Kitchen and bathrooms. A few days out.
- Bedding and everyday clothes. The last day.

You do not have to use crates for everything. Many households hire crates for the heavy and fragile and everyday items and use a few cardboard cartons for odd shapes or long-term storage. Access and delivery day on the coast
We ask for safe and reasonable access at the delivery location: a clear driveway or loading access and lift access for apartments where applicable and pets secured. Someone should be available to receive the delivery. A failed collection can attract a fee so make sure the crates are ready and accessible. Hinterland and beachside streets can be narrow so it is worth checking where a delivery vehicle can stop before the day.
Planning two moves in one season
If you are moving between the Gold Coast and Brisbane or up to the Sunshine Coast then check that both your pickup and drop-off suburbs are inside our delivery areas. Because delivery and collection are separate steps you can have the crates delivered where you are now and collected from where you land.
